Pixels

TIME: Oct-Nov 2022
MEDIUM: Photography, book design
DIMENSIONS: 2'' x 2'' (50 x 50 mm)

In this project, I "pixelated" the pictures I took of nature. By dividing the images into countless small pieces, I convey the idea that "the human perspective is limited". Humans, like other species, are just passing through billions of years of Earth's history. Different species, including humans, make up this planet like pixels. However, humans are definitely not the center.
“If you were asked to choose a picture of nature from a photo album right now, you might choose the forest you hiked through, the white clouds you viewed outside your flight, or the sunrise you witnessed during your morning commute. These choices are made because one subconsciously knows that this is how nature should appear. The rich diversity of species, clean air, blue skies, massive animal migrations, clear water, star-filled skies, and bird songs that can be heard everywhere bring pleasure to people because we know they are all precious to our existence”, I wrote in my essay.
